<p dir="ltr" style="MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px" align="left"><strong>FWISD defines Invention Convention:<br /></strong>The Invention Convention is a part of <a href="http://www.icfw.org/Invention.htm"><strong>Imagination Celebration</strong></a>, a national arts education festival. It is a project designed to help students learn problem-solving skills through the invention process. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 7 are encouraged to expand their creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and have fun by inventing or creating something that would be useful to themselves and others. Children work through the scientific process as they invent by observing, collecting data, organizing, generalizing, predicting, revising, and applying laws and theories. When applying the invention process, children use hands-on experience to apply and synthesize their knowledge. Inventing stimulates creativity, motivates children to learn, and enhances self-esteem.</p>
